Beijing Olympics 2008

I watched 3 of the 4 hours for the ceremony of the 2008 Olympics. And after seeing the show and mystical performance from the Chinese, I am now back on Olympic hype! Seeing all those drummers performing was deathly intimidating. The fireworks were completely outstanding. Never have I had been so impressed by fireworks while watching them on a screen.

Safe to say that I will be paying close attention to all the games I can, especially Mexico's. Our ladies from Mexico sure did look good.

I will be visiting Chinatown tomorrow.

Lollapalooza 2008

I went to Lollapalooza 2008 with part of the rest of 225,000 Chicago residents. This years headliners were Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, and NIN. I Would have loved to have seen all three, but i was too late to nab my own wristband for 3 days of festivities.

I went to see Radiohead, which everyone who knows me is my jam and wouldnt miss. i must say that the crowd waiting for them was not at all a Radiohead crowd. I mean sure everyone there standing was a fan, but this was a Lollapalooza crowd. I dont understand why Chicago gets so crazy for anything outside. Aside from all the showing and pushing, I waited to until they came out. When they did, the crowd became a mass of sweat infested pigs. I couldnt see and there was some asshole from Indiana who wouldnt shut up.

I left my spot that I waited for hours, but ended up in a better position, ontop of a recycling bin. I got to sit down and no one was even near contact with me, until the end where some people sat there with me, they were nice. I had a great view and was really fun. If I had a choice to do this all over again, i would have waited for 7 hours next time.
